The traditional construction techniques used by Artimúsica have been used for over 100 years. The craftsmanship first developed by the master Joaquim José Machado, grandfather of the current masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, still stand for the basis of the company's work, on making each instrument as a unique piece of art.

The artisanal techniques and methods the company use stand out and are recognised by many players as a benchmark for quality, not only in Portugal but also abroad, when it comes to build traditional Portuguese instruments, such as Fado guitars.
