An affordable entry-level flute with easy playability and reliable mechanics

The Quantz 505 Series is an entry-level model characterized by its bright and easy-to-play sound, thanks to its nickel silver body. It features Pearl's unique Pinless Construction and One-Piece Core-Bar structure, ensuring excellent reliability and durability. Additionally, the French-style pointed arms provide a beautiful appearance and high durability.

You can choose between covered keys and ring keys, with additional model variations available with or without the E mechanism. The E mechanism makes it easier to produce the third octave E, which is typically considered difficult to play.

Furthermore, the lineup includes U-shaped headjoint models that allow even small children to play in a comfortable posture. Some models come equipped with both a U-shaped and a straight headjoint, enabling a smooth transition as the child grows. This ensures long-term use as players develop.

Choosing a headjoint that suits the player.
Three styles of headjoints, Largo (Standard),Brezza, and Forza are available for Quantz series. The Largo headjoint offers a traditional response, with a melodious and sweet character. Free-blowing with generous tone, perfect headjoint cut for the beginner player. The Brezza cut is the newest addition to the Quantz series and offers a more refined sound with sharper articulation and fullness of sound throughout the range of the instrument. The Forza headjoint has a more sophisticated cut suitable for more advanced players, enabling superior projection, increased dynamic spectrum, unrivalled clarity of articulation and dazzling rich tone.
Headjoint designed to grow with the player
Headjoint designed to grow with the player
The flute adapts to a child’s growth by allowing a smooth transition from a U-shaped headjoint to a straight headjoint. The U-shaped headjoint enables young players to maintain a natural and comfortable posture, while the straight headjoint (TPH-5J) is designed for easy sound production and an enhanced playing experience. Pearl’s case is straight headjoint ready, so no need to purchase another case to accommodate the straight headjoint. (The curved head joint comes in a small case which is stored in the front pocket of case cover- PF-505EUS comes with both straight and curved head joint, and the straight head joint is stored in the main case, just like the regular model)

You can choose between ring and covered keys with all the flutes in the Quantz series. ●Covered Keys: Covered keys have key cups that completely seal the tone holes. Simply placing your fingers on the keys allows you to play clearly without any air leaks. ●Ringe Keys: Open-hole keys have small holes in the center of the keys. They require more precise finger placement and practice to cover the holes properly, but one of their unique features is that you can feel the air vibrations through your fingertips. Since you need to be mindful of where your fingers land, playing with open-hole keys can also help you develop beautiful finger positioning. Ring keys are available at no extra charge. Which type you choose depends on your playing style and personal preference.
