[MONTAGE M offers double the memory compared to its predecessor, with an increase from 5.67GB to 9.97GB of Preset Wave memory and from 1.75 to 3.8GB of user flash memory. In addition, there are a host of new sounds and instruments, including pianos, orchestral instruments, drums and much more! [FM-X] The MONTAGE M revives Yamaha's legacy of expressive and dynamic FM synthesis with its 8-operator FM-X engine, offering a wide range of diverse sounds: from crisp and clear bell-like sounds, to bold and energetic, to smooth and enveloping. This is an excellent complement to the AWM2 and AN-X engines. [VCM ROTARY AND DRAWBAR BEHAVIOR] Using sophisticated modeling technology, the VCM Rotary Speaker effect simulates the energetic, enveloping movement of a classic ROTARY speaker. In addition, the new setting of the organ's drawbar faders simulates the vintage behavior of "pulling out" the organ's registers. [16 LIBRARY SLOTS] With 16 library slots at your disposal, you can store up to 10,240 additional Performances (in addition to the more than 2,700 Performances in the presets), facilitating quick searches by Category, Name and Attributes. [PURE ANALOG CIRCUIT 2] The now-improved Pure Analog Circuit included in the MONTAGE M reduces noise and improves dynamic range, crosstalk, low-frequency phase and distortion rate, resulting in a more defined sound at all volumes. Available exclusively on the MONTAGE M8x, the GEX Action elevates every performance and sound creation with Polyphonic Aftertouch - a revered synth control found on the legendary CS-80 and DX1. Polyphonic Aftertouch lets you individually modulate sustained notes with pressure. The GEX also offers key repeat behavior normally found on grand pianos.

MONTAGE M features new performance controls: a 5-segment ribbon controller with a dedicated HOLD button, a new KEYBOARD HOLD button for sustaining chords while using the knobs to edit, and a Portamento on/off button and a dedicated button for Portamento timing.

There are dedicated Keyboard, Part and Scene Control buttons to control 16 Parts per Performance. This intuitive control, especially beneficial for live performances, improves overall efficiency of use and adds dimension to each Performance.

A revolution and a very significant innovation for musicians, the Extended Softsynth Plugin (E.S.P.) replicates MONTAGE M on any favorite Digital Workstation (DAW). Free to all registered MONTAGE M owners, E.S.P. allows you to create, edit and mix MONTAGE M Performances - no hardware required - offering an unparalleled level of integration on stage and in the studio. We plan to release E.S.P. in early 2024. The first version will have all MONTAGE M sounds, albeit with basic edits. The full version will be available in summer 2024.

Improved navigation allows for quick and intuitive sound editing and operation. There are new functions such as the new 512 x 64 LCD screen, 6 touchscreen control buttons and a PAGE JUMP button that transfers the contents of the LCD screen to the 7" TFT color touchscreen for more detailed editing. And the dedicated Navigation button gives an overview of a Performance. Simply touch a graphic object on the screen to access that parameter for more detailed editing. The dedicated Navigation button allows you to go directly from the surface of a sound to the deepest part.

Simplifying studio setup, MONTAGE M features a multichannel audio and MIDI interface via USB with 32 outputs/6 inputs. Facilitating MIDI recording, virtual instrument monitoring and multi-track audio recording via a single USB cable, optimizing time for creativity.
